Autumn Winter 2015 at a Glance

AW15 trends for the lady who loves her pearls

The 80s are back, and for those of us who can remember it first time round…. stop clasping your face is horror.... the perm and scrunches are missing. It’s been revamped so it’s not so scary

Power shoulder at Balmain, Saint Laurent saw lots of Madonna esq/ Bananarama tulle knee length skirts with a mix of bicker chicks, we saw lady Di Sloanes in the form of Mui Mui’s frilled sailor bib dresses, and at Loewe colour block knits and rainbow colour combos which defined the decade of Dynasty, and Wham!

Heels are back
The pointy, uncomfortable but totally sexy is back.
Sexy bicker black boots at Saint Laurent, Pink traniers with court shoes in them at Dior, chunky heeled Nicholas Kirkwood’s at Peter Pilotto, spiked strappy’s at Miu Miu or ladylike pointed courts at Prabal Gurung.

Main pic Saint Laurent, clockwise from the top left, Dior, Miu Miu, Prabal Gurung, Prada, Miu Miu, and Peter Pilotto

Dresses for the Gala, theatre, and Christmas balls
Ellie Saab never disappoints, he sent flowing gowns as well as cute jumpsuits and cocktail dresses down the runway this season, Valentino, obviously not the zoolander epic moment, but the layered sequin, lace and tulle affair, Jenny Packham, Zuhair Murad, red carpet gowns and  Oscar de la Renta new designer Peter Copping seems to be copping..…..I (sighs)….am so sorry, about that god awful pun… with the legacy of the brand

Outfits for dinner parties
Oscar de la Renta gave us dinner party options too with this white applique dress, and my favourite Giambattista Valli, Monique Lhuillier with her slinky sexy lace dresses and Marc Jacob with his modernised Victorian silhouettes, extra-long skinny diamanté belts, embroidered jackets and print skirts

Modern tweed for Ladies that Lunch
I am unfortunately a lady that works although I shouldn’t complain I love designing and getting inspiration from these shows

Ladylike elegance with Victorian dark romance, were seen for the across the board with the daywear outfits some gave the shows a historic atmosphere, whilst others brightened and modernised the look

Clockwise from top left: Alexander McQueen, Moncler Gamme Rouge, Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga and Roksanda

What are your thoughts on the outfits this season? What was your favourite show or incident.. they were plenty to choose from

Brand highlight... Giambattista Valli

One of my favourite modern fashion courtiers is Giambattista Valli, fell in love with him around his Fall 2008 collection

 Giambattista Valli Fall 2008

His Spring 2015 Haute couture collection saw cocktail dresses over pants.. On Gazelles like Adrienne Jüliger looked so elegant and modern.. if only I was tall enough to carry this off.. Sighs. On my petite height I would make me look like SpongeBob SquarePants sister

He is among a current line of talented Italian designers riding a creast on wave of young talent like Ricarddo Tisci (in case you didn't know, I love this man's work and his spirit… se previous posts), Massimiliano Giornetti, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli are but a few.

His label only started 10 years ago but it' already has a young Haute couture clientele some older brands envy whilst still catering to the die-hard Haute couture veteran’s

I so want a version of the head pieces for ascot this year

His pieces are feminine yet chic, individual yet wearable. Each season I am knock of my feet my his collection, they are pieces of living artwork

With his ready to wear AW15 coming up today.. I can hardly contain my excitement...
