Zuhair Murad Couture Fall 2015

Zuhair Murad 

is for me usually the edgiest of glamorous eveningwear, his pieces are usually on trend cutting edge and still girly, I really admire that skill

the first few pieces from this collection had me wondering if this was in fact an Elie Saab show (the Disney princess seemed to be in full force)

Murad has always been in love with his sequins, but he usually does them in such a off the cuff way, this couture show for the master that is Murad was bland and did not set him apart for the herd.. the pieces were still pretty and there were a few occasions that you saw some of his brilliance from his other shows

Taylor swift seems to be an inspiration, (just take a lot at the majority of the models) but I liked how his designs transformed her form a pop princess to an elegant lady

boo hoo to the safe first few pieces.. and hello to the sexy lady in black, he brought it back

But todays show didn’t leave the usual feeling of elation that normally get

There is so much to love about Zuhair Murad, take his Spring 2015 couture collection for one

This sequined romper looked like it was ready to stage ready for a Katy Perry or Beyoncé show

As well as the elegant slim fitting numbers that were crystal-encrusted

A peplum jacket that  shimmered like it was a waterfall

One number was so sheer and had such a plunging V It was like Botticelli’s birth of Venus coming at us 

The Appliqué flower work on the floor length gowns were as per usual exquisite as were the shorter flirtier versions

 

 

There was more tulle than at a Gypsies fat wedding 

 

 Some of the frillier versions were a bit out there the top but that is the beauty of couture

Haute Couture Week Excitement

COUTURE FASHION WEEK started this weekend – This is the most exciting fashion week of them all




The right to call your garments couturier is, granted by the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, after a designer has fulfilled certain strict criteria such as maintaining at least one atelier (workshop) in Paris.

Furthermore, a couturier must show at least twice a year in Paris. 

I look forward to couture weeks the most, a no holds-bar indulgent creation feast, a week of the most lavish, intricate detailed pieces, workmanship, and originality of a unique design Unfortunately Givenchy is not on the schedule anymore (please come back Riccardo!)  

One of the things I love most about this week is creativity comes first, commercialism is nowhere to be seen

The other names I’m excited to see today are the schedule's younger names, Giambattista Valli, Alexis Mabille - sone of the who have built a solid customer base.

Tuesday brings us Giorgio Armani Privé and Chanel 

Wednesday begins the legend that is , Jean Paul Gaultier and Valentino, 

these two new creative directors have managed to bring a fresh femininity to the brand without moving to far from the romanticism of the brand core design values  

And finally on Friday the two chraming darlings Zuhair Murad, and Ralph and Russo
